It's OK to be mad, it's not OK to be mean!

Tuakana Teina
With our brave netball teams dodging the rain today Room 3 was a mixture of year 5/6s and year 3/4s. We made the most of this in Maths by doing some tuakana teina with the older students teaching the younger students (and at times the other way round).

Rugby!
On Tuesday we were at May Road for our zone rugby tournament. We had a lot of great tries and some really close games. We also taught the other teams a thing or two about how to prepare for a game. Not exactly your traditional warm up but very effective for team work and focusing!
Activate Music
Last week we started to use Activate Music to learn how to play guitar. Stay tuned (get it?) for some videos of our learning and also some Incredibox tunes (which is what we've been working on while waiting for our turn on a guitar).
Cook Island Language Week
Last week was Cook Island Language Week so to celebrate we made some positive message posters using Cook Island Maori phrases. Can anyone remember/Does anyone know what Elizabeth's poster says?

Vector talk Sustainability...
This term our inquiry is sustainability. Esther from Vector came in to talk to us about how we get our power and how sustainable different ways of producing electricity are. Can anyone remember or guess where we get most of our power from in New Zealand?
As well as learning lots of important facts, we also got to play with solar powered helicopters and cars and see who could generate the most power by spinning a turbine!
